“Let’s Get Smarter!” I love this welcoming invitation from one of our national news pundits. We’ve got to be better informed, so we can be more effectively engaged. Our appointed and elected officials will only do better when we expect better. The Pittsburgh bridge collapse is our perfect metaphor for the broader challenge. Broadbased infrastructure compromised through governmental neglect. Another blatant example of community integrity being threatened by irresponsible leadership. Let’s expect better, and work for it. LET’S GET SMARTER!

We The People have been simmering long enough. As in the parable, it’s long past time that we jump to safety. The overwhelming challenges of the day, including Covid, weather disasters, Afghanistan lessons and the constant of dysfunctional government, are too much to tolerate without some constructive response. Come join me to consider some possibilities. Let’s jump…TOGETHER!

Spring has sprung, and we’ve got many reasons to be optimistic. So, why are so many of us still stressed, tired and sympathetic with this sculpture? Five years of poisonous politics, layered with 15 months of Covid-19…enough to take its toll on most of us. Memorial Day reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice. So, the least we can do is raise our game in civic engagement to honor those who enabled our attempts at self-governance. We The People are better than this. Our children deserve better than this. This experiment in American Democracy has taken quite a beating of late. It’s frayed and worn, battered and beaten, with many holes to patch. But, we’re recognizing that fact, are better able to be we the people who become We The People in the rebuilding of this Country. I have great confidence in our potential to be catalysts for good.
