APPRECIATING THE ART IN ARCHITECTURE...

Learning to Pay Attention and Truly “See”

My fortuitous pairing with the “Badass Curator,” formerly “The Art Princess,” has enhanced my ability to “see” the world around me. She’s taught me to better engage the world, so that I can appreciate the creative discoveries to be found beyond the label or plaque. I’ve come to better understand the relationship of art to architecture and design.

The following are some wonderful examples of places I’ve visited that had a profound impact on me…once I paid attention. Many of you have visited them and had your own personal epiphanies. ENJOY!

IN CLOSING

My life has been greatly enhanced by being taught to better pay attention to the world around me. To “see” and appreciate with eyes, heart, mind and senses. The benefits only take a little extra time. And the essence of those rewards can’t be duplicated with more “selfies” and camera clicks…agreed?

It’s been said that, “The world would be a great place were it not for the people.” Recent world and political events tend to be an affirmation. But, there’s so much beauty, inspiration and redemption…if we only pay attention…LET’S!
