THE LITTLE CLOUD THAT COULD...AND THE HAPPY BUDDHA...

While I’m taking a Mosey break until Nov. 1, I can’t help myself from sharing tidbits to hold your attention. And I continue to exchange a diversity of myth, mirth and occasional wisdom on Facebook. A recent significant birthday placed me in a reflective mode/mood, and two encounters prompted these reflections. ENJOY!

THE LITTLE CLOUD THAT COULD

A recent holiday break found me in a quiet outdoor setting where I could relax a bit, breathe deeply and pay better attention to the world around me. As I’ve mentioned before, I DO believe in uncoincidental coincidences, and I’m more alert to their occurrence and my opportunity to thoughtfully engage. This particular engagement starred the little cloud that could.

I was calmly staring off into a beautiful Texas sky when I saw this delightful juxtaposition of the sun and the little cloud that could. A momentary moment of perfection, as they both paused before going on their merry ways. But in those brief seconds, I could appreciate those many personal experiences when we’re challenged to carpe our diems, seize our opportunities and make the most of the synchronicity. Enough said. Reflect on it…

THE HAPPY BUDDHA

Like you, we’ve seen many somber Buddha statuary and symbols in various settings. And, they’ve graced our gardens wherever we’ve lived. A reminder of the universal spirit that inspires and comforts around the world. HOWEVER, we discovered our first Happy Buddha in an art gallery patio, were delightfully impressed, and went on a quest to acquire one. This is the result. He faces our porch, and is a constant reminder of perspective. I add the ducks occasionally for additional fun power.

Our Happy Buddha…I Dare You Not To Smile…

The world is especially harsh at the moment, and life is tough for all of us on occasion, regardless of our resources. I believe we should all surround ourselves with the people, places and things that nourish our spirits and remind us of the inherent beauty of so much of life. Through art, music, natural beauty, food, flowers, friends and family. With some good humor generously infused for flavoring.

We can’t anticipate the cards life will deal us, but we can greatly influence how we respond. I choose humility, humor, a thoughtful effort and gratitude. LET’S MOSEY!
